The Happiest Place on Earth....most of the time:)

I have been feeling guilty that I haven't posted fun details about all our March happenings, so I finally have a minute and wanted to fill in the missing "fun stuff".

Last year, we started the tradition of going to Disneyland for Taylor's birthday. It's such a great time to go because there really are no crowds and it is warm there...a needed break from the Utah winters! (we got sunburned and could wear shorts-even though we shouldn't have thanks to our lack of having tan skin). Anyway, in keeping with tradition we went again.

This year was so GREAT! Taylor talked about going to about a month before we actually took the trip, so she was thrilled the morning that we were finally going to go. As much as travelling is a somewhat stressful experience for me (with the kids I should say), Taylor loves it! She loves to hand the lady her airplane ticket and get her own seat. (The kids were good on the flight...thank goodness for portable DVD players). When we got to Cali we decided to surprise Grandma & Grandpa Harris- so we drove up to Simi Valley and spend the afternoon with them. Then on to Disney-we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for the first few days and it is so nice to be on property! I love that we can just walk back to the hotel for naps or rests!

The girls loved all the rides and Taylor was big enough to go on a lot of the big rides this year. She is so brave!! She went on Space Mountain 3 times and as long as Mom kept her hand on Taylor's leg, Taylor was "only a little scared!" We decided that she is definitely a trill seeker....loves the roller coasters and the fast/scary rides most. Brooklyn was happy to go on any and all rides that she could. She just didn't understand that she had to sometimes wait for 5 minutes first! One of the biggest hits was Toon Town. Both girls loved playing in the characters houses and the fountains.

The best thing that we do on our Disney trips are the character meals!!! It is the best thing ever. The characters all come up to every table and give your kids individual attention. They LOVE it! Our girls love "Ariel's Grotto" the most because all the Disney Princess' are there and our girls get to wear their princess dress-up also! Ariel even remembered that it was Taylor's birthday (along with what seemed like every other little girl) and gave Taylor a birthday present-the Little Mermaid magnet dolls she had REALLy wanted (thanks to Mom...but we won't tell her that).

Taylor had a great bday complete with a late night bday party at the pool. A friend of Justin's from work was also down with his family and little girls, so they joined us for the party. The girls loved that they could eat cake and then go swimming---even if it was late!

After a few days went to Newport and stayed at the Marriott Newport Beach Villas. They were so nice and huge for our family, so we invited Nana & Grandpa Rohatinsky to join us! After they flew in we had so much fun with them at Disneyland & California Adventure and the beach. (BTW, the Aladdin show at Cal. Adven. is a definite must--so good!) Thanks Nana & Papa Ray...it was so much fun! We were able to spend our last day playing at the beach. The girls loved the sand, sun & surf. Taylor really enjoyed collecting seashells with Nana and playing in the sand. While Brooklyn couldn't get enough of the water! That is until she realized how much fun it was to throw sand. It was a fun day.

Side Note: I must say one of my funny thoughts of the trip was when the girls were tired and cranky...I would think "this is the happiest place on earth"...why are you crying!?! They have it rough! j/k
