Party like an Animal

My girls LOVE animals. Any one of our friends or family members who have pets can attest to this. In fact, once while driving in the car Taylor, out of the blue, asked me if her Daddy was allergic to squirrels. Not sure where this question came from or where she was going with the question, I answered, "No, I don't think so." Then, she proceeded to ask, "Well, then can we get one for a pet?" It was cute...but I told her no...there were plenty of squirrels in the back yard.
Anyway, back to the point--my girls love animals. So, we finally got a pass to the Thanksgiving Point Farm. It is a cute little farm where you can see lots of farm animals, feed them and even go on a little pony ride. (Which the girls really enjoy).

At the end of April they had a "Baby Animal Birthday Party" to celebrate all the new little animals. Our girls were very excited to go see and pet the baby animals (although I think Taylor was a little disappointed that there wasn't a b-day cake for them!).

One of the best parts is watching Brooklyn get so excited and just laugh out of pure joy! Taylor loves to get the food to feed the animals but is still unsure about letting the animals put their mouths/tongues anywhere close to her. She did get braver as the day went on and actually tried to put her hand out instead of just throwing the food right at them!

The highlight of the trip involved a new baby pig. Taylor has always loved pigs...why I don't know. Maybe it is the curly tails or that she thinks they are all pink, but she was excited about the idea of seeing a baby pig. The farm staff had one of the "baby" (they still seem big) pigs out for the kids to touch. Taylor was over touching the pig and it kept trying to get away. So, the staff member picked up the pig and it started freaking out! It kept squealing so loudly and was trying to wiggle it's way out of the staff members arms. Taylor thought it was so funny to see the pig "throwing a fit" and she just kept laughing. It was a fun day.

(This is the pig before the fit!)

Don't you just love it when you find something your children enjoy so much! I love taking my kids to the zoo because besides packing snacks and drinks and a long drive, it's really effortless. Motherhood is great!

Yes! You should get a pass then we can take the kids together. It is so cheap...like $35/year for a family. That is just for the Farm. If you want a pass for more things at Thanksgiving Pt. they have other options. It is a fun activity!
