We had been planing a return trip to Disneyland for October during the week of UEA (we got annual passes this year...so we might as well get some use out of them) and as the trip got closer and closer we realized that we had never told the girls about it. So we decided to try and surprise them.
At the beginning of October we had spend the weekend in St. George for the marathon and the girls just loved being there and were sad when it was time to return home. So at the start of our trip we told the girls we were going to go to St. George for a trip. Then after the first night there we told them we were going to visit our good friend Stacey (and the girls old babysitter) who lives in Las Vegas. They were happy to see Stacey and her cute dog, Bentley...not so sure her roommates were happy about the noise level 3 little girls AND a cute dog bring into a home!
Then we took the girls to the Disney Store at an outlet mall in Vegas. Of course, the girls started begging for various different Disney toys. Justin and I said, " No, lets not get any of the toys here...why don't we just GO to Disneyland and look there!" The girls were SO excited. They didn't quite know if they believed us at first. But once it settled in that we were really going they couldn't contain their excitement. It was adorable...they were talking really fast, hugging us, jumping up and down and letting out shrieks of pure joy. People around us were just smiling as they could hear what was happening. (One of those "memorable" parent moments where you just soak it all in).
We arrived at the Grand Californian in the early evening. The girls love that place...and well, so do Justin & I. All three of them ran over to the little kids sized rocking chairs in the lobby to sit and watch the classic Mickey Mouse cartoons. It was so cute! Paityn was old enough to do what the big kids did and she was loving every minute of it. We really didn't have time to do much that evening, so we just had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney then let the girls watch the Princess Bedtime Story before heading to bed.
We started off our first day in the park at Minnie's Breakfast. We are big fans of the character meals and this one has a great breakfast. Taylor & Brooklyn get so excited to meet and play with all the characters and we get TONS of pictures. Paityn wasn't a fan of the characters. She was scared to death---shaking and crying. That is until Winnie the Pooh came! She loves him! It was actually pretty cute to see her recognize him and warm up to him.

I took Taylor & Brooklyn on the Toon Town Rollercoaster. Brooklyn didn't want to go and I basically made her by telling her that she was bigger now and it wouldn't be scary. I honestly did think she would like it. Boy, was I wrong! She was pretty quiet & brave while we were actually on the ride, but I could tell she was nervous. Well, as soon as we started walking towards Justin the waterworks began! Ohhh, I felt SO bad! She REALLY doesn't like fast rides and I REALLY am never going to make her go on one again. (Bad parenting Moment!)
The rest of the day was spent playing in the park. We went on lots of rides, toured Mickey & Minnie's homes, saw a few more characters, swimming in the pool & hot tub (my hip was still pretty messed up from the marathon, then add the drive and walking all day...so the hot tub was the best medicine!) and then going to see the new World of Color show in California Adventure.

Paityn was SO exhausted that she just fell asleep leaning forward on her blankets in the stroller! Poor little thing.
